traipsing around with my love on a beautiful easter afternoon.

one of the top activities on my "i miss east village list" was the walks hubs and i would take around our neighborhood. there is such a cool culture up there, and i was really bummed about giving that up with our move to fidi {that's right. 'fidi'}. as todd and i have been noticing though, we live in a pretty cool area. just one block north of us is city hall and there are so many beautiful buildings there. the architecture is just incredible and the grounds are beautiful and well kept. i felt like i was back in dc or boston! it also didn't hurt that it was a lovely 75 degrees out—good weather always makes things more enjoyable.  well spring finally sprung, and on quite the appropriate day, wouldn't you say?

awfully thankful.

tonight was one of those nights that was just begging for a warm bath and a little bit of tim mcgraw playing in the background. it's been a busy week, but a great one at that. natalie and i have been busy with business, and i couldn't be more thankful. it's not every day that you get to do something you love with your best friend. we shop all day, meet cool people, and pick up a few cute things on the way.  what else in the world could you ask for!?

also, not to mention, my apartment has really been filling out and is beginning to feel like a home. we just got our bed frame in, and i am loving it. as much as i love sleeping on the floor.... now it's time to hang drapes and paint the walls. unfortunately, my sky high ceilings have led me to dread those two activities, and they just might not get done this week, err, month.

patience grasshopper.

saturday night

it has been cold and rainy and i've had enough. fo' real.
and then tonight, todd and i decided that we should go to the movies to forget about it all.
{although i just wanted to sit on my brand, new couch and smile}
but alas, we went.
on the way out i reached for an umbrella, but hubs told me to not worry about it—
"it's not raining hard and the subway runs door to door"
oh yeah?? you sure about that HUBS?
cause i'm pretty soaked. and i think you forgot that the subways only run door to door
when they're working!! which is.... 21% of the time. and 1% on the weekends.
so nonetheless, we're soaked.

so to make up for it, we decided we should just eat goldfish, brownies, ice cream, and hot fudge.
 i just preferred the goldfish and a big spoonful of fudge.
but as you can see, todd preferred it all. how does this kid not gain weight!?!?

oh, and go mavs!!!

i like 'em big... i like 'em chunky!

every now and then, hubs and i break out into dance.
and today it just so happened to be to this song.

todd gets very shy and concerned when i document him dancing,
but i thought this one was too good to pass up.
as you can tell, this boy's got moves! hahaha

ps. please don't mind the fact that we have absolutely no furniture in our house.
we've decided to purge our lives and go the minimalist route.
{at least hubs wishes that were the case}
 instead, we spent the weekend shopping
and will be furnished by next saturday. woot woot!

dc in full bloom.

hubs and i couldn't make it to the cherry blossom festival last year
 so once we found out the harding's were going this year, we eagerly jumped on the bandwagon!
 we've taken a weekend trip with the hardings before (to my beloved boston. see here. and here.)
 and already knew they were the perfect traveling buddies!

and after a crazy 28 hours in dc, we're back, but wishing we weren't!

since we've been so busy lately, it was great to leave it all behind for a weekend rendezvous.
 although saturday was a bit drizzly and cold, it was amazing to see the trees and flowers in full bloom
{something nyc has yet to experience this year} we didn't necessarily have anything planned to do
once we got there, but we sure did have a list of restaurants we wanted to eat at. it'd be fair to say we
ate ourselves through dc and stopped to see some sights along the way.

the first restaurant we hit up was matchbox
{or fire alarm, if you can't remember the name like me...}
 cool vibe. cool decor. and delicious food.
despite the waitress thinking angie and i were fraternal twins
{because clearly floral scarves, cameras, and wavy hair lead to such conclusion}, i'd say it was an a+.

since this was the first time in months my dear camera has seen the light of day,
there are many more pictures to come!
