valentine's, photobooths, and friends.
hubs and i opted out of the typical valentine's date and
instead spent it with friends running in and out of photobooths.

of course, leave it up to lindsay and her oozing creativity to yet again
came up with another brilliant plan:
a photobooth crawl.
she spent the whole past week mapping out all the
different bars & restaurants in the east village that had photobooths.
we first met at the smith for dinner, which is quite delicious
and which also, conveniently enough, has a photobooth.
thus, where the crawl began.
that booth was then followed by three others where we
kissed and ooo'd and aww'd at the camera in hopes of the wildest photos.
it was such a fun night and i'm thankful for great friends
that make these sorts of things happen.
{because heaven knows i'm not creative enough to devise such ideas.}

a mustache part-ay!
this past saturday, the talented lindsay hosted a fabulous mustache party
for all the wanna-be hipsters in town.
she had some of the most creative events planned for the night, including:
"name that 'stache" game
pin the mustache on 70's burt reynolds
mustache treats
'stache photo station
old burt reynold's films
and last, but most importantly
stick-on mustaches
{which led to uncomfortable & challenging conversations}
overall, the night was unforgettable.
i love any excuse to eat, catch up with friends, and wear a mustache.

my dad was turning the big 5-OH, so the only
way to celebrate such a year for such a man was in rockstar style!
since todd and i were already going to be in town, my mom and i thought
it would be fitting to secretly fly my siblings in for the big surprise.
and let me tell you...it was ALL a big surprise
{or at least we like to think so— the american airlines woman just so happened
to tell my dad that a "ryan lucero" was on our flight when he called in
to check our flight status. but that's for another story. thanks aa}
pops—i love you and am so thankful we could be in town to celebrate the big day!
{and don't worry, despite your "seasoned" age, people still mistake you for my older brother}

the {heart}-day wish list.
it's true.
i'm quite the sucker for valentine's day.
i love everything about it—
hearts
romance
pink & red
chocolate
snuggling with the beau
oh. and little surprises
....ahem.... {see below, dear}
i've had my eye on these things for a while,
but thought it would be quite fitting to share now considering the time of month.
now, i like everything below, but i love the ruby red's.
as a matter of fact, i think they deserve a moment of silence.

super bowl xlv.
i've been out of commission the past couple days since we've been busy partying it up in d-town. if you remember back in october, i became the luckiest girl when i won this. the day finally came that hubs and i got to go to the big game, and the whole experience was more than i could have ever imagined!
we arrived at the stadium around 2pm with tickets in hand for the official nfl tailgate party. i felt very special as we got to listen to some amazing live music {maroon five. keith urban. nbd}, gobble up delicious food, and rub shoulders with some vip's.
we were then very anxious to grab our seats in the stadium as to not miss christina's aguilera sing the anthem. let's just say, we should have carried on at the tailgate a bit longer...YIKES! not her finest moment. i guess she's going on the list right behind michael bolton and rosanne.
and then there was the game. ohhh the game. it was such a blast. i dressed for the steelers {reason to remain unpublished}, but to be honest, i really didn't care who won. all i know is that the jets didn't make it, so i was cheering for whoever was ahead. :)
and for my most favorite part of the whole game—the halftime show!! i was so excited to see the black-eyed peas {not to mention i sat with tad hamilton on the plane to dfw. ow ow} but i was even more surprised to see slash and usher perform. it was an incredible experience.

never too late for a present.
for the last oh, 3 years, the hubs has been yearning for some custom-made suits. you choose the style, you choose the fabric, you choose the colors, you... well... you get the point. it's custom. but let's just say that this little luxury also comes with a luxurious price. that said, we decided that all he was going to get for christmas were these suits {all being a term used very loosely considering my wallet is like the district and always open for business}, but as i digress, it's what the man wanted. a couple custom-made suits.
so when mr. maxwell came into town we paid him a little visit, in his hotel room. a little odd, but i guess that's how they do it in the big leagues. so we got to the room, checked out the spread of fabrics, and we got started. we chose his suit & shirt styles, his fabrics, his colors, and... you still get the point... it was fabulous! only drawback. this "christmas" present was being delivered from hong kong and came with a 3 month delay.
so, three months later and hubs finally got his christmas present!! merry christmas sweetie. nothing better than a late present, hey? like christmas morning all over again!
