issues.

i dont know why i even try sometimes:

i try to go to bed early—i'm bright-eyed at 4 am
i try to make dinner for the hubs—he stays late at work
i try & eat healthy throughout the day—i devour a bowl of brownie batter when i get home
i try to kneel when i pray—i just fall asleep in a less comfortable position
i try and spend less money one week—i make up for the difference the next

as you can tell, me "trying" is just a constant battle.
so from now on i'm just going to "be" and see what happens.

happy friday.

i cannot believe how fast friday came!
so fast!
probably because my head was floating the whole week in all
the work i had to get done. being a workin' woman these last couple
weeks has been a little hectic. but i've come out alive. thank goodness.

so weekend plans:
a) spend time with the hubs b) get a new dresser
c) lug the new dresser home d) relax from lugging the new dresser home
e) curse myself for not paying someone to lug my new dresser home
f) sleep

okay. so i don't have that much to do this weekend, but you can
obviously tell what i don't want to do.

maybe we'll throw a movie into that mix. i've been wanting to see "easy A".
call me a dork, but it looks really funny.

a simple misunderstanding.

i don't get it. or maybe i just don't understand, but i was led to believe that fall was just around the corner. no?
it cooled down a couple days, i brought out my cute little boots, wore my cardis a few times, and then BOOM!!
it's 89 degrees out!

so listen, you either get cool and allow me wear all my freaking cute new fall clothes,
or you get warm. real warm, and let me throw my bikini back on.

we cool?

lions and tigers...

...and monkeys and polar bears and snakes OH MY!

-------

hope you all had a lovely weekend.

hubs and i had a zillion things to accomplish this weekend,
and didn't check anything off the list!

instead, we played.

we enjoyed a night at the theatre on friday,
and saturday we trekked it on up to the bronx zoo.
and it was awesome.

we ran around the whole zoo like two kids free from their parents—
we pushed the younger kids out of the way for a better
view of the monkeys and tapped on the glass to startle the hyenas.

we may not be too mature, but we sure know how to have fun.

a little bit of this. and a little bit of that.

just came across a few oldies but goodies that i had to post.
these pics captured the coolest thing that we did in hawaii
& by far the most incredible experience of my life—

the manta ray night dive!

so this is how it works:
plankton are attracted to light. manta rays eat plankton.
so, with flashlights in-hand, we dove down 30 feet and pointed our lights up towards the surface.

before we knew it, twelve huge manta rays, each 12-14 ft. in length,
were swooping and diving all around us.
they were so close, that we'd feel their wings graze our hair while swimming by.

for 50 minutes we experienced this.

absolutely, A-MA-ZING!!!

windy city adventures.

for all of you who've lived in or visited chicago...isn't it amazing??
my first time ever visiting was on our drive out to nyc. we detoured through the city
and tested out the famous chicago-style pizza. and the whole time, i was just amazed at how
beautiful and clean the city was. {the deep dish wasn't half bad either}

so two weeks after todd's sister and family moved there, we jumped at the opportunity to visit,
and hopped on a plane!

while we filled our days with exciting activities and bellies with delicious food, more importantly,
it was just great being with family.

please don't move back to canada, jac. i mean it!
the highly-recommended architectural boat tour.
i'm such a sucker for aquariums & zoos—you can thank my parents for that!
todd couldn't put her down the whole time. adorable, hey?
