meatballs and ice cream.

:: dessert @ the hippy ice cream truck ::
with the egan's at our side, we hit up a new
restaurant in town, the meatball shop.
i would never claim to be a "meatball fanatic", and the
whole idea of a meatball restaurant was a little humorous to me,
but let me tell you...
this place was delicious!

you choose your meat,
your sauce,
your cheese,
your bread,
and voila...
you've got yourself a meatball sandwich.

oh, friends!

 my adorable hubs gathered all our friends together in central park
today for an early celebration of my birthday.

i don't know how we got so lucky to have such great friends,
but we did and i couldn't be
more thankful for their friendship!

with a little bit of uno, bocce ball, soccer,
and amy's cake going on, i'd say it was a pretty fantastic day!!

rambling.

i apologize for the lack of blogging lately.
my life as of late has just been, well, blah.

hopefully this weekend will bring a bit more excitement.

it is my birthday weekend you know.
well, my birthday isn't until tuesday but still.
i'm going to celebrate.

last year we went to cancun.
maybe hubs has something up his sleeve this year...
todd, dear? do you??
you know i hate surprises (lie)

i shouldn't get my hopes up.
and even then, there's always my good friend "amy".
i can totally hit that up for some birthday cake.
{xoxo}

farewell.

{the ultimate bostonian meal: lobster & clam chowder}
{so many beautiful details in beacon hill}
{walking with the hardings to the u.s.s. constitution}
Saying goodbye to Boston was not a happy experience.

We had enjoyed ourselves a little too much--to the point that we checked for apartments on
 craigslist once we got home. Unfortunately the prices aren't much different than nyc...

I could go on for the next few weeks with pictures, but decided to sum it all up within this final post.
{you're welcome}

boston whale watch.

you may call us the whale watchers.

kimball farm ice cream.

so, i love ice cream.
there's no denying it.

at any single point in my childhood,
you could open up one {of our two} freezers and find
yourself at least 6 quarts of ice cream.

let's just say, that was a main course to every meal
{oh yeah, and bbq chips}

so when hubs told me of this adorable ice cream stand
out in the country of west boston, i was all for it.

i mean, there's no better way to enjoy a warm summer night,
than spooning homemade ice cream.

walking the freedom trail.

 let me just start out by saying,
i am absolutely 100% in LOVE with Boston!

after spending just one weekend there, todd and i are already planning another.

there are countless parks, cute cobblestone streets and delicious restaurants.
{and as i'm sure you can tell, good food is of high importance to us!}

--------

we started out our first morning by following the freedom trail as it
wove in and out of some of the top historic sights--

fanueil hall & quincy market
paul revere's house
old north church
u.s.s. constitution
granary burying ground
{site for ben franklin, sam adams & mother goose}

We looked like such tourists with our backpacks on and camera-in-hand,
but we definitely embraced it!

tribute in boston common.

Happy Memorial Day!

We've returned from our lovely weekend in Boston
and can't wait to share our adventures.
