instead of walking around with a camera at syd's texas reception, 

we thought it'd be fun to set up a little photo booth to capture the fun.  

easier for us and more fun for the guests!

hubs and i recently celebrated our fifth-year anniversary,

and what an amazing five years it's been. 

i love you pop, and i'm thrilled to have you in my life.

our week in tejas.

to continue with the wedding celebrations, harper and i flew to dallas for my sister's reception. it was a week-long celebration of partying, shopping, eating, and enjoying sydney and her sweet new husband, brandon. it was also a big week for harper as she learned to roll over!! both of my little girls are growing up way too quickly!!

okay, have you ever seen pet chickens as adorable as these?

or maybe it's more appropriate to ask, have you ever seen pet chickens...period?

in utah, you don't have dogs or cats, you have chickens.

and ya know what? i think they're on to something—they don't need to be walked or potty trained, 

and apparently you can love them just as much as man's best friend.

every morning, my adorable niece would go out to the chicken coop,

scoop up one of her three chickens named sugar, 

and tote it around the yard in the crook of her arm the rest of the morning.

proud to be her mama.

yesterday may have been mother's day, 

but i am the one who should be celebrating around here.

i am so blessed to have been entrusted with this beautiful girl in my life, 

and she has changed me for the better.

goodness, i could not imagine my life without her!

the spill your coke on your lap kind of day.
the wear too high of heels until you get blisters kind of day.
the come to find out you've been starving your child with lack of milk kind of day.
the rent a new breast pump worth your rent to fix that problem kind of day.

the lock yourself out of your apartment ALL day kind of day.

basically, i could not be more excited that today is over and that the weekend is here baby!
not only is our 5-year anniversary over the weekend, but it is also mothers' day.
and i get to spend it with my two most favorite people.

here are some more photos of the handsome bride & groom right after they got married. their ceremony was just beautiful, and i caught myself squeezing todd's hand and getting all mushy as i remembered our wedding 5 years ago {on saturday!}. those two are so cute together and make quite the couple!

the last two photos of me and harper are about the only two we took together all weekend. much to the bride's chagrin i'm sure, harper took center stage and was passed around to more people than i could count! at one point, i turned around to her being held by some lady that i don't believe was even in the wedding party! although i love a free babysitter, i'm happy to be home and have my little girl all to myself.

i cannot tell you how nervous i was for harper's first plane trip, 

and i think any new mom could agree with me. 

even though she is an amazing baby, i was still nervous that something would happen. anything!

the altitude pressure would get to her, she'd be tired & cranky, etc...

but, i am  here to tell you that she was a doll!! 

other than some smiles and giggles as we were descending, 

she was passed out the entire 5 hours. 

she didn't even wake up to see the view from the cockpit!

i'm blessed to have such a happy baby and am feeling a bit more

settled about our crazy summer plans since we'll be living on that airplane!
